THE ASSOCIATION

S.A.C.C.R.A. - the South African Cannabis Community & Regulatory Association - is a member association consisting of independent, affiliated, collaborative Cannabis Community Associations whose members choose to participate in the Cannabis movement, and to regulate by agreement any commercial activities relating to Cannabis to ensure the most excellent safety, quality and service standards possible. The S.A.C.C.R.A. vision is to ensure free and fair access to the legal, safe and responsible use of the Cannabis plant for all, and to ensure the equitable, peaceful and successful roll out of Cannabis use.

We are doing this by facilitating the transformation of the illegal Cannabis industry through independent, affiliated Cannabis Community Associations, with the S.A.C.C.R.A. Executive and Structural Councils acting as mediators.

MEMBER ASSOCIATION

The Association was conceptualised in Feb 2015  and currently consists of a few dedicated active members who are committed to lobbying for full legalisation through removal of Cannabis from the law, and to informing and educating the public as to the massive benefits of the Cannabis plant as a whole. We also have groups forming around the country, and are constantly growing the lobby.  We have developed a comprehensive social development model based on a brand new community economy model which embraces Cannabis as a sustainability and empowerment key.

One of the main challenges is to establish the infrastructure required to ensure a reliable, trustworthy supply of medicine and treatment to people who wish to explore the benefits of this wonderful plant.  We will only refer people to Cannabis medicine therapists and suppliers we have personally verified and who are committed to the highest standards of production and wholistic treatment.  We will only refer in a one on one conversation to ensure every person is given the best advice.  We are also actively involved in training people through domestic use workshops and by preparing and developing workshops for commercial use in a legal industry.

In order to create sustainability for the Association itself which is not a commercial enterprise, we have developed two forms of membership: standard members, who wish to benefit from these activities and support the movement in a more passive manner, who make a small monthly financial contribution which will give momentum to our activities and support our current, unique legalisation strategy, and those who are actively involved in the activities of the Association on a daily basis (active members) who dedicate their time, energy and passion to this cause and contribute annual dues and 10% of their C.C.A.s nett monthly income to the lobby.
